Bank Robbers Grab Gold Under Police Noses

VICENZA, Italy Armed robbers stole gold worth 2.5 billion lire ($1.4 million) from an Italian bank on Tuesday, just 50 meters (yards) from the local police station, AGI news agency reported. The four, wearing ski masks, tied up staff at a branch of Banca Di Roma in Vicenza, northern Italy, and grabbed 130 kg (60 lb) in gold ingots and 150 million lire in cash before making off by car.

Nobody at the police station was available for comment. (Reuter)
